no they could not do so cause according to the ritual of ancient china the girls had to leave their parental home after marriage and had to stay in their husbands for their intire life. they were not allowed to go to school, they were expected to do whatever the husband's mother asked them to and it was often hard for them, at the time women were not as imporant as men they were treated much like slaves because they didint have that much freedom to do anything. Due to proverty, sometimes poor farmers had to sell there duaghters to rich people.
